SUIT UP! Life Lessons Blog

I learned a valuable lesson in Faith, Belief, and God's Mercy......

Some years ago, I was walking down the street, homeless, hungry, tired, and in tears....

I can’t lie, I was approaching the first stages of defeat...

See, I had thought God was mad at me and allowed me to suffer....

At that time in Life, my “360 degrees of maturity” wasn’t complete....

and I was mentally slipping into a dark place.

If you’ve ever wondered about depression, let me be the first to tell you that it’s REAL and when you’re living an unstable lifestyle, depression becomes lethal.

It’s like driving your car with your eyes closed.

The devil whispered into my ear, "See, Walt...no matter how hard you work, you’re NEVER going to have anything nor will people Love you! Look at you...You're BROKE and Defeated! You don’t have your kids! You don’t even have a dime in your pocket!”

I said to Satan, “But I’m going to get better and pull myself out of this mess!” Satan replied, “No you’re not! You’re a failure and you’re going to stay that way!”

See, the thing about depression is that it creeps up on you like a deadly snake... whispers in your ear…grabs a hold of your neck… then slowly constricts the life away from you. It kills your happiness…it destroys your motivation…depression rots the core of our Souls.

I truly believe God had a Plan for me because just as I was about to give in to Satan's Whisper...I found a fifty-dollar bill on the ground! I couldn't do anything but shed a few more tears, laugh to myself and shake my head (smh).

I then heard a Powerful voice say, “DON’T WORRY Walt! I'm preparing you for something GREATER! Just because you don’t have it all NOW doesn’t mean you won’t have it at ALL! I need you to PRAY and BELIEVE IN ME! I won’t ever leave you…I Promise.

That was my turning point in life.
